Meeke won't concede defeat in title chase

Kris Meeke will carry on the fight to retain his IRC Championship, despite his fourth DNF at the Geko Rally Ypres.

The Irishman, who suffered a high speed crash after clipping a ditch, is undeterred and wont concede defeat, despite being 27 points behind series leader Juho Hanninen.

Meeke, who won the Sata Rally Acores last year on his debut at the event, has vowed to hit the ground running when he attempts to retain his Rally Acores trophy.

It’s getting more difficult [to defend the title] and maybe we’ll have to change our approach a bit because we can’t carry on pushing to the limit in every corner and on every rally. But Açores is another rally and we go there hoping to hit the ground running.” said Meeke.

Meeke also turns 31 tomorrow, July 2nd.
